This is a serious situation, and the individual will be required to register upon his or her release from imprisonment or upon the completion of probation. From that point, a sex offender will be required to re-register within 5 business days of his or her birthday, as well as if he or she changes his or her name or residence.
Certain more dangerous sex offenders may be required to re-register every 30 days or every 90 days, depending on the unique case. Registration will include providing the local law enforcement agency with the offender’s name, address, photograph and the offense for which he or she was convicted. This information is available for the public to view online and by visiting their local law enforcement office.
